Job Description
Charles Schwab is hiring a hands-on Full Stack Software Engineer to support Corporate Risk Management. This hybrid role helps build and improve scalable risk management applications and data solutions across the full stack, from responsive web experiences to cloud services, analytics, and operational workflows.
You will work as an individual contributor contributing to real-time services, web applications, analytics, and day-to-day operational needs. The team uses an Agile-Scrum delivery model and emphasizes reliable delivery, secure development, and practical engineering improvements.
What you’ll do
- Design, build, and enhance scalable .NET applications, web services, APIs, and responsive web interfaces running in a cloud environment.
- Implement business logic and technical solutions for risk management processes, models, and operational workflows.
- Develop and optimize data pipelines and integrations, including complex queries using BigQuery, SQL, Oracle, or comparable technologies.
- Build front-end solutions with JavaScript or TypeScript (including Angular), plus HTML and CSS.
- Deploy and manage cloud-native applications and services on Google Cloud Platform using tools such as Cloud Run and Cloud Functions.
- Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated tests, and deployment and infrastructure processes, including cloud resource management.
- Write clean, secure, maintainable code; debug issues; review pull requests; and contribute to solution design and technical documentation.
- Identify and remediate code quality issues, vulnerabilities, code smells, and application security findings.
- Support release and configuration management to improve delivery reliability and repeatability.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, integrate, and deliver high-quality features and platform enhancements.
- Contribute in an Agile-Scrum team by managing multiple deliverables, driving process improvements, and evaluating relevant technologies.
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field with 5+ years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience.
- 3+ years of hands-on software development with C# and .NET.
- Experience designing and developing web services, APIs, and cloud-based applications.
- Working knowledge of front-end development using JavaScript/TypeScript and frameworks such as Angular, plus HTML and CSS.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases and data engineering concepts.
- Experience with unit and integration testing, Git-based workflows, and CI/CD technologies.
- Understanding of secure software development, code quality controls, and vulnerability remediation.
- Experience working in an Agile-Scrum environment and collaborating across engineering, quantitative, architecture, and business teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, communicate clearly, document solutions and operating procedures, and drive work to completion.

Location: Southlake, TX; Orlando, FL; Chicago, IL (hybrid). Hybrid model is M-F during standard business hours with 4 days in-office and 1 day working from home.
Compensation: USD $95,000.00 - $155,000.00 / Year

Preferred qualifications
- Knowledge of brokerage, margin risk, financial crime, or other regulated financial-services business processes and requirements.
- Experience with Veracode, SonarQube, or similar code quality and security assessment tools.
- Experience with automated release management, configuration management, and infrastructure automation.
- Experience with GCP, AWS, Azure, hybrid-cloud architectures, BI tools, or big-data platforms.
