Software Engineer

ACQCENTRIC INC is hiring a Software Engineer in Huntsville, AL (onsite) to support the Missile Defense Agency Next Generation Software Office. In this role, you will help accelerate and modernize development, integration, and delivery of resilient and secure Missile Defense System software, with a focus on on-demand and cloud-based capabilities used across system-of-systems development, integration, and testing.

You will bring engineering rigor to technical analysis and hands-on support for cloud software and environments that can include hardware in the loop testing. The work centers on improving how software is built, integrated, and delivered for complex Department of Defense programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and engineering analysis to support development of on-demand and cloud-based software for system-of-systems development, integration, and testing.

Requirements

• Active Secret clearance.
• Masters degree in a STEM field with 12+ years working on missile defense-related or other complex, large DoD program/project.
• Experience with design, development, and management of software libraries and cloud-based software architectures and requirements.
• Experience supporting software development and delivery through hardware in the loop and cloud-based testing.
• Experience managing and reviewing application programming interfaces (APIs) and interface control documents, enabling software used in cloud-based and HWIL environments.
• Experience in artificial intelligence development and tooling, including agentic operations.
• Ability to work independently, as a team member, or by leading teams/tasks, applying engineering rigor to solve engineering or scientific problems.

Cloud-based software architectures, hardware in the loop, Artificial intelligence development, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, Terraform, Ansible, and Git.

Desired Skills

• Cloud and Containerization: Docker and Kubernetes experience, working with AWS/Azure, and migrating legacy enterprise applications to cloud-native architectures.
• Agile and DevSecOps: Working knowledge of Agile and Lean principles in a secure DoD DevSecOps framework.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Experience deploying Terraform and Ansible to create reproducible, auditable, and secure cloud environments.
• Configuration Management and Version Control: Use of platforms such as Git to support policy-as-code, baseline management, and compliance configurations.
• Clearance Alignment: Top secret clearance or the ability to qualify for one.
