Software Engineer 1 (Full-Stack)
Job Description
Prometheum is fully remote, operating with real-time collaboration across overlapping hours for pairing, code review, and ceremonies. The team is AI-forward, using AI tooling to move customer value forward faster while maintaining the rigor expected in production software. In this role, you own how end-to-end work gets delivered, with regular feedback and clear expectations tied to customer impact.
What you’ll do
- Own epics end to end after Product handoff, from story writing and pointing through delivery and release
- Build across the TypeScript/Node back end and React front end, tackling the large, complex problems in your team’s scope
- Provide regular, accurate progress updates on your epic, and surface risks early
- Partner with your Product Manager and senior engineers on technical design and architecture decisions
- Use AI coding tools as part of your workflow, and review outputs with the same rigor you apply to your own code
- Lead company-wide demos for the epic outcomes you deliver
- Review teammates’ code to catch design concerns, edge cases, and test gaps
- Participate in scrum ceremonies including refinement, sprint kick-off, standup, demos, and retro
- Work directly with Product, QA, and UX throughout delivery, not only at initial handoff
- Investigate and resolve issues found in QA, UAT, and production
What you bring
- 3 or more years of professional software engineering experience shipping production software
- Strong TypeScript or JavaScript skills, with real depth in both Node.js and React
- Experience taking substantial work from ambiguous requirements through released software
- Comfort with relational databases, SQL, and reasoning about data models
- Experience with microservices, Docker, and a cloud platform such as AWS
- Automated testing as a consistent habit
- Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants, plus judgment to identify incorrect output
- Clear written communication with strong English command for a fully remote team
- Ability to reason through technical disagreements using evidence, updating your view when evidence changes
- Authorization to work in the U.S. or Canada
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check, required for this role
