Software Developer

The Hales Group is hiring a Software Developer to design, build, test, and maintain proprietary software applications using .NET technologies in an onsite role in Clayton, NC.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain proprietary software applications using .NET technologies and Java and C#
• Use Android Studio to improve and troubleshoot a mobile Android application
• Recommend and implement improvements that enhance software quality, performance, maintainability, and user experience
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
• Create and maintain technical documentation for software applications and system changes
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues across software and general IT systems
• Write clean, scalable, and well-documented code
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices
• Work with engineering, operations, and business stakeholders to define requirements, develop solutions, test functionality, and implement enhancements
• Train and support application main users

Requirements

• .NET Development Experience (Required): Proven experience building applications using .NET Framework and modern .NET (.NET Core/.NET 6+), including C# and WinForms
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles
• Experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL) and writing efficient queries
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)
• Ability to troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing codebases
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Android Studio / Android app development experience (Priority Plus): Experience building, testing, and deploying native Android applications (Java or Kotlin)

• General IT support experience (networking, systems administration, hardware/software troubleshooting)
• Knowledge of SCADA (AVEVA Edge) and/or PLC programming is a plus

Job Details

• Compensation: USD 100,000 - 120,000 per yearly
