ServiceNow SAM Developer

Leidos is seeking an experienced ServiceNow SAM Developer to support IT Service Management (ITSM) modernization for AFDW/DAF. This onsite role in Camp Springs, MD focuses on building and deploying automated workflows, custom applications, and integrations within the ServiceNow platform.

USD 107,900 - 195,050 per year

Position Requirements

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, IT, Engineering, or related field and 8+ years of prior relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 6+ years of prior relevant experience (additional years of experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree).
• At least 4 years of ServiceNow development and scripting experience including JavaScript, Glide APIs, HTML, and XML, with deep proficiency in Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, and API integrations.
• ServiceNow Certified System Administrator or ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (required).
• Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) in ITSM (preferred).
• Strong expertise in ITAM (SAM/HAM) and ITOM (CMDB, Discovery, Service Mapping).
• Proven experience in large-scale ServiceNow implementations and platform governance.

Responsibilities

• Build, configure, and maintain ServiceNow SAM Pro, SaaS Management, and related HAM Pro integrations.
• Implement and maintain software entitlement models, license metrics, normalization rules, and automated reconciliation engines.
• Design end-to-end asset lifecycle automations, including software request, allocation, harvesting/reclamation, renewal, and retirement, using Flow Designer, Workflow Editor, and Scoped Applications.
• Design, code, debug, test, document, and deploy scalable solutions across the ServiceNow platform.
• Implement clean, maintainable logic using Script Includes, Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Actions, UI Policies, and Service Portal widgets in line with strict enterprise coding standards.
• Optimize ServiceNow data models, CMDB relationships, and asset table schemas for performance and integrity.
• Execute data imports, transform maps, and scheduled jobs to synchronize third-party discovery data, vendor portals, and procurement systems.
• Build and maintain actionable SAM dashboards, executive compliance reports, custom database views, and automated audit reports.
• Prepare technical design specifications and migrate update sets and scoped applications across sub-production and production instances.
• Lead unit testing, resolve defects, support platform upgrades and patching, and validate changes using ATF (automated test framework).
• Explore and integrate ServiceNow AI innovations, including Now Assist and AI agents, to optimize asset operations and user self-service.
• Collaborate with IT Asset Managers, Procurement, and ITIL process owners to translate business licensing rules into technical platform specifications.
• Author technical architecture documents, administrative runbooks, and user-facing knowledge bases, and mentor and onboard team members.
