Responsibilities
- Multi-Tenancy & Authorization: design secure tenant isolation, authentication, authorization, and auditing across customer organizations, including boundaries and isolation guarantees required for enterprise and regulated deployments. Build resilient backend services in Python with FastAPI and own multi-tenant data schemas and tenant-aware query patterns.
- Tenant Self-Serve & Lifecycle: develop services for tenant provisioning, self-service administration, and onboarding workflows. Support billing, pricing, and metering surfaces for enterprise customers.
- Public & Agent-Facing APIs: own and evolve public APIs (REST, streaming, async) for human developers and autonomous agents, ship SDKs, and define interfaces that agents call.
- MCP & Agent Integration: craft integration paths that connect MCPs, agents, and data into the platform, including onboarding customer-owned MCPs/agents/data and ensuring isolation and trust within a tenant.
Requirements
- 7+ years of backend software engineering with meaningful experience in APIs, backend services, or platform infrastructure.
- Strong expertise in one or more: API design and versioning, multi-tenancy, authentication/authorization, or backend services at scale.
- Proficiency in Python (FastAPI), Kubernetes, AWS, and databases (SQL or document databases).
- Commitment to developer experience, writing clear errors, and preserving backward compatibility.
- Demonstrated ability to ship working code regularly, debug production issues, and own systems end-to-end.
- Collaborative mindset across infra, data, apps, and science teams; build for internal scientists and external developers, communicating tradeoffs clearly in ambiguous situations.
