Senior Software Engineer

Capgemini offers a hybrid work setup in New York, NY, with a role centered on both technical execution and client impact. This Senior Software Engineer position supports end-to-end delivery in an Agile environment, while also giving you the opportunity to lead offshore development teams and contribute hands-on with Java and modern web technologies.

The engagement includes acting as a client-facing technical liaison, guiding scalable application delivery, and ensuring delivery governance through reporting such as WSR, MSR, and QBR. You will partner with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into solutions, drive quality through reviews, and help troubleshoot complex production issues.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor offshore development teams.
• Serve as the primary technical liaison between client stakeholders and offshore teams.
• Design, develop, and oversee scalable application solutions.
• Provide hands-on engineering support using Java and modern web technologies.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and quality standards.
• Drive Agile delivery activities including sprint planning and release management.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production and technical issues.
• Collaborate with business and technical teams to translate requirements into solutions.
• Monitor delivery progress and communicate status, risks, and milestones to stakeholders.
• Support delivery governance through WSR, MSR, and QBR reporting.

Requirements

• Strong experience with Java 8-17, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, JDBC, and Hibernate.
• Hands-on experience with Angular or React and modern JavaScript frameworks.
• Proficiency with MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle databases.
• Experience with GitHub, Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines, and Jira.
• Working knowledge of AWS services including EC2, S3, Lambda, and RDS.
• Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and release management.
• Experience leading and managing offshore development teams.
• Excellent client-facing communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical abilities.
• Ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Experience balancing hands-on development with technical leadership responsibilities.
• Strong experience in Java Full Stack application development.
• Proven experience leading offshore development teams.
• Experience working in client-facing consulting environments.
• Strong architecture and solution design capabilities.

Salary range: USD 101,140 - 182,624 per year.
