Job Description

Alchemy is hiring a Sr. Full Stack Java Developer to help design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using Java full stack technologies. This hybrid role in San Leandro, CA brings together backend and frontend work, with close collaboration across product, design, and engineering to turn requirements into technical solutions.

In this position, you will build and improve application features end to end, contribute to team quality through reviews, and support reliable performance by troubleshooting issues as they arise. The compensation range is $55.00 to $60.00 per hour, and the role expects at least 3 years of experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement scalable web applications using Java full stack technologies.
  • Work with product managers, designers, and other developers to define and refine application features.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code while following established best practices and coding standards.
  • Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Debug and troubleshoot application issues to maintain high performance and responsiveness.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to improve development processes.
  • Participate in Agile practices, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Document technical specifications and maintain comprehensive project documentation.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in Java and Java-based frameworks such as Spring and Hibernate.
  • Extensive front-end experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, including frameworks such as Angular or React.
  • Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
  • Experience with database technologies, including SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
