Senior Software Engineer

Base-2 Solutions is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (onsite) to support the NMEC DOMEX Technology Platform and D3P Modernization through containerized microservices and big data pipeline operations.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, triage, and maintain a production big data pipeline built on a microservice architecture running on Kubernetes, including an Elasticsearch backend and Kafka messaging.
• Enhance, improve, and maintain CI/CD and DevOps scripts and processes.
• Design, develop, and support scalable and redundant infrastructure across physical and virtualized environments.
• Use Helm to configure Kubernetes deployments aligned to new feature requirements.
• Collaborate with teams across systems engineering, architecture, development, security, operations, and integration.
• Participate in Agile activities including release planning, scrum of scrums, bug triage, design sessions, and related meetings.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI with ability to obtain a CI Polygraph.
• Bachelor’s degree with at least 10 years of experience in the category field.
• Strong Linux proficiency.
• Hands-on experience with containers and Kubernetes.
• Experience with CI/CD orchestration and GitLab.
• Familiarity with Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana.
• Demonstrated success working in cross-functional engineering environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating systems at scale.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies.
• Development experience with Bash, PowerShell, SALT, Python, Groovy, or Java.
• Experience supporting enterprise or production systems.
• Familiarity with Kafka or other messaging systems and Kubernetes monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
• Experience with GPU-based Kubernetes, SALT for deployment automation, Helm/Helmfile, and Nexus.

Compensation

• Competitive fixed salary or hourly pay (based on experience, skills, location, and internal equity).
