Job Description
A senior software engineer role in Herndon, VA (hybrid) with Serco North America, focusing on Microsoft Power Platform for Navy programs; active U.S. Secret clearance and up to 10% travel required.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain Power Apps (canvas and model‑driven), Power Automate flows, and Power BI dashboards to support Navy mission and administrative workflows.
- Integrate Power Platform solutions with DoN systems using Flankspeed approved connectors and patterns; implement secure APIs and middleware as needed.
- Ensure compliance with Department of Navy security policies, STIGs, accreditation/ATO requirements, and data handling rules within Flankspeed enclaves.
- Implement Dataverse data models, manage connectors (SharePoint, SQL, and custom connectors), and design secure data access and role‑based security.
- Lead solution validation, unit and integration testing, user acceptance testing, and support production cutover and sustainment activities.
- Troubleshoot production incidents, monitor performance, and perform tuning or refactoring as required.
- Participate in design reviews and contribute to architectural discussions.
- Produce documentation, runbooks, training materials, and deliver user training for stakeholders and administrators.
- Mentor junior engineers to develop skills and foster a collaborative engineering environment.
Requirements
- Active U.S. Secret security clearance.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience delivering production solutions using Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI).
- Understanding of DoN/DoD cybersecurity requirements and data classification handling.
- Strong stakeholder communication, documentation, and collaboration skills; experience working with military and civilian personnel.
- Ability to travel up to 10%.
