Senior .NET Developer

Esolvit Inc. is seeking a Senior .NET Developer for a remote contract that centers on redesigning and migrating the Educator Certification Online System (ECOS) components used in Texas educator certification. The role emphasizes migrating from Classic ASP to .NET and .NET Core, improving code maintainability, and delivering thorough documentation for the migration efforts.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement complex modules within ECOS and its subsystems
• Migrate legacy Classic ASP pages, business logic, and data interactions to .NET and .NET Core following current best practices
• Refactor and optimize code during migration to enhance maintainability and performance
• Produce clear, comprehensive documentation for converted screens and the changes made during the migration

Requirements

• 10+ years of Microsoft .NET and .NET Core experience
• 10+ years of SQL Server (2017-2022)
• 8+ years of ASP.NET MVC
• 5+ years of Classic ASP (ASP 3.0)
• 5+ years designing and coding for selected customer systems
• 5+ years analyzing technical requirements and delivering effective technical solutions
• 5+ years of jQuery
• 3+ years of Bitbucket
• 2+ years of accountability application work
• 2+ years of licensing application work

Preferred Skills

• 3 years of documented experience with Atlassian Jira
• 2 years of experience working for or with TEA or another state or local education agency
• 1 year of Employment Eligibility Registries experience
• 1 year of Document Reporting Portals experience
• 1 year of integrating systems with the Texas.gov fee payment portal
