Senior Machine Learning Engineer for GenAIUX at Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc., onsite in Santa Clara, CA, with a salary range of USD 193,300 to 261,500 per year, leads the development of generative and agentic AI UX platforms and partners with product, design, and backend teams to deliver GenAI powered design generation, validation, and automation services.

Responsibilities

• Backend integration focused on AI systems to manage asynchronous data flows from LLMs and other AI services.
• Optimize performance to maximize speed and responsiveness of AI driven interfaces, including large datasets and real time streaming outputs.
• Design and own end-to-end architectures spanning backend services, APIs, data storage, and frontend integration.
• Build and evolve GenAI powered services that support design generation, validation, and automation workflows.
• Contribute to long-term technical vision and architectural decisions.
• Balance rapid delivery with scalable, maintainable system design.
• Collaborate with internal teams to translate needs into robust technical solutions.
• Contribute to hiring, mentor junior engineers, and raise engineering standards.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software development experience (non-internship).
• 5+ years of programming experience in at least one programming language.
• 5+ years of designing or architecting systems including patterns, reliability, and scalability.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team.
• Experience with emerging generative and agentic technologies.
• Experience in machine learning and data science.

Description

Help shape new Generative AIUX products for AWS customers and transform how customers design. The team builds GenAIUX products that drive design driven development and democratize innovation for all builders. A shared platform across multiple products supports AI powered tools that leverage Design Systems to accelerate design, development, and validation workflows. The role focuses on two products, Venue and Arena. Venue is an AI powered internal prototyping tool that enables AWS builders to create features using the AWS Cloudscape Design system, while Arena scales this capability to Amazon and external customers with a focus on rapid 0 to 1 prototyping.
