Senior (DevOps) Machine Learning Engineer

ServiceNow is building cloud-based AI/ML capabilities to support enterprise services and improve workflow efficiency. In this Senior (DevOps) Machine Learning Engineer role based in Santa Clara, CA (onsite), you will help deliver scalable, production-grade AI/ML user experiences with a strong focus on Kubernetes operations, observability, and owning code end to end.

Compensation: USD 161,300 - 274,200 per yearly. Base pay is complemented by equity (when applicable) plus variable/incentive compensation and benefits.

What you’ll do

• Build high-quality, cloud-based AI/ML solutions that power intelligent enterprise services
• Collaborate daily with developers, product managers, and quality engineers to deliver quality software
• Partner with product owners to understand detailed requirements and own code from design through implementation, testing, and delivery
• Deploy, scale, and operate services in production Kubernetes using Helm and CI/CD pipelines that enable safe, repeatable releases and rollback
• Provide observability with meaningful metrics, useful logs, real tracing, and alerts tied to customer impact
• Debug and resolve production incidents independently, participate in on-call, perform root-cause analysis, and operate against defined service level objectives

What you bring

• Expertise in Go or Python, including Design Patterns and time and space-efficient algorithms
• Experience building new products that apply challenging algorithms
• Expertise writing efficient, object-oriented, modularized, quality software
• Knowledge of core AI/ML techniques and algorithms
• Knowledge of unit testing, profiling, and code tuning

• Confident use of AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot or Cursor, combined with rigorous review of AI-generated code for logic errors, security anti-patterns, and missed edge cases
• Experience with AI-assisted debugging and trace analysis, and an understanding of data privacy rules for what goes into a prompt
