Job Description
Senior Data Engineer role for an investment management firm in Boston, focused on designing and scaling a modern cloud data ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Design and evolve the data architecture
- Develop scalable data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and delivery
- Enable enterprise-wide analytics and support business decision-making
- Build and maintain cloud-native data solutions within enterprise environments
- Create and optimize data pipelines, transformations, stored procedures, and scalable data applications
- Design and implement ELT processes using modern data stack technologies
- Develop, deploy, and support production-grade cloud applications
- Design data warehouses, operational data stores, and scalable data models for analytics and business reporting
- Build reliable high-volume ingestion and transformation frameworks from source systems through consumption layers
- Schedule and orchestrate workflows using Airflow, Control-M, or similar technologies
- Collaborate with engineering and business teams and contribute to architectural decisions and platform strategy
Requirements
- Proven experience building and maintaining cloud-native data solutions within enterprise environments
- Strong software engineering fundamentals with hands-on experience building data pipelines, transformations, stored procedures, and scalable data applications
- Deep experience designing and implementing ELT processes using modern data stack technologies
- Strong understanding of AWS and experience developing, deploying, and supporting production-grade cloud applications
- Expertise designing data warehouses, operational data stores, and scalable data models for analytics and business reporting
- Track record building reliable, high-volume ingestion and transformation frameworks from source systems through consumption layers
- Experience with scheduling and orchestration tools such as Airflow, Control-M, or similar technologies
- Exposure to reporting, dashboarding, and data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI is beneficial
- Ability to collaborate across engineering and business teams while contributing to architectural decisions and platform strategy
- Experience in asset management, investment management, capital markets, or related industries is advantageous

Compensation: $165,000 to $185,000 Base Salary (USD, yearly)
