Senior Android Developer

ProCat Distribution Technologies is seeking a Senior Android Developer to help shape and maintain Android-based warehouse management applications. This onsite role in Gibsboro, NJ combines hands-on Android development with strong Microsoft SQL Server expertise and team leadership to deliver reliable, scalable enterprise features.

In this position, you will own key parts of the application lifecycle, from design and feature development to troubleshooting complex issues and improving long-term system performance. You will also mentor a small team of developers while partnering with product management and customers to clarify technical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of Android applications.
• Develop new features and enhancements for warehouse management software.
• Write clean, maintainable, and scalable code using modern development practices.
• Conduct code reviews and help establish development standards.
• Troubleshoot complex software problems and implement durable solutions.
• Collaborate with product management and customers to define technical requirements.
• Design and optimize Microsoft SQL Server databases for application needs.
• Build stored procedures, views, functions, and queries.
• Optimize application performance through efficient database design.
• Maintain data integrity and support reporting requirements.
• Direct and mentor a team of two software developers.
• Assign work, establish priorities, and review completed projects.
• Foster a collaborative and accountable development environment.
• Guide technical architecture and development best practices.
• Assist with recruiting and onboarding future technical staff.
• Support internal IT operations.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional Android application development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Java and/or Kotlin.
• Extensive experience with Microsoft SQL Server and SQL development.
• Experience designing and maintaining enterprise applications.
• Prior experience leading or mentoring software developers.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
