Job Description

Noble Machines builds robotic platforms that demand software you can trust from first tests to field deployment. As a Robotics Software Engineer focused on simulation, you will develop and own simulation environments and infrastructure that enable development, validation, testing, and sim-to-real transfer. If you enjoy building high-fidelity virtual worlds to validate autonomy, control, and perception before hardware ever moves, this role in Sunnyvale, CA (onsite) offers a direct path to impact, along with equity options and comprehensive healthcare.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain simulation workflows using Isaac Sim, Omniverse, Gazebo, or Mujoco to support integration and validation.
  • Build and iterate on high-fidelity simulation environments, digital twins, and synthetic data pipelines for autonomy and controls development.
  • Partner with hardware, autonomy, and test teams to deliver systems that are field-ready.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in robotics or distributed software development.
  • Strong proficiency in C++ (C++17+) and Python.
  • Experience working with simulation software such as Isaac Sim, Omniverse, or similar tools.
  • Solid understanding of ROS 2, lifecycle nodes, and DDS communication.
  • Experience building modular, distributed runtime or middleware systems.
  • Familiarity with containerized development including Docker, colcon, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proven experience building APIs, SDKs, or other developer-facing tools.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across engineering teams.

Nice to Have

California Pay Transparency Statement

  • Pay Transparency & Compensation: In accordance with California's Pay Transparency Act (SB 1162), the expected base salary range for this position located in Sunnyvale, CA is $140,000 – $200,000 per year.
  • Actual compensation within this range will be determined based on several factors, including the candidate's qualifications, relevant experience, technical skills, and specialized expertise.
  • Base salary is just one component of Noble Machines' total rewards package, which may also include equity options, comprehensive healthcare benefits, retirement plan contributions, and performance-based incentives.
