Job Description

Based in Philadelphia, PA and onsite, this RDK Developer role offers a competitive USD 120,000 yearly salary. You will work on monitoring releases, diagnosing field issues, and building DevOps tools for RDK broadband devices, while leveraging AWS data analytics and anomaly detection to drive operational efficiency. The position supports opportunities for technical leadership and mentoring a small engineering team, with a focus on delivering robust, scalable solutions across a range of device families.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively monitor metrics and alerting systems to ensure timely, high quality releases across diverse devices.
  • Swiftly respond to critical field issues, identify root causes, and implement effective mitigations.
  • Troubleshoot end-to-end issues in RDK broadband devices across components such as WiFi/Mesh, DOCSIS, Fiber, LTE, and other access network technologies.
  • Conduct source code reviews to pinpoint root causes within components and the platform.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues using Linux systems and networking protocols, including packet capture analysis.
  • Design and enhance operational tooling and architect DevOps solutions to improve performance and efficiency.
  • Leverage AWS services (S3, Athena, QuickSight) to analyze data from millions of field devices, delivering insights to inform decisions and drive efficiency.
  • Develop and implement anomaly detection techniques and data-driven approaches to proactively identify and resolve system issues.
  • Perform global metric comparisons across multiple device models.

Requirements

  • Experience with C/C++, Python, and Linux environments.
  • Experience with log management and analysis tools such as Elastic Stack (ELK), Splunk, and Grafana.
  • Solid scripting skills in at least one language (e.g., Bash, Python, Go).
  • Background in a Technical Lead or Senior role, or experience mentoring a small team of engineers.
  • Ability to make solid technical decisions and communicate the rationale effectively.
  • Experience using defect-tracking tools such as Jira.
  • Experience with source control tools such as Git and GitHub.
  • Experience with SQL and/or Amazon Athena.
