Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and integrate object oriented software using C# and C++ within Visual Studio on Windows
- Prioritize and manage multiple software tasks concurrently
- Troubleshoot software and test instrumentation
- Collaborate within a multidiscipline engineering team
- Develop and derive software product requirements
- Lead and mentor junior software engineers
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with at least 5 years of experience
- Experience developing and integrating software with languages such as C++, C#, Java, Python, or Visual Basic
- Experience using integrated development environments and debugging tools to ensure software integrity
- Must have prior experience with Windows operating system and Microsoft Visual Studio
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required

Preferred qualifications
- Experience with laboratory test instrumentation, electronics, and software such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, and digital multimeters
- Understanding of computer architecture and hardware optimization techniques
- Experience developing software drivers for hardware interfaces
- Familiarity with hardware interfaces and data protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, RS-422
- Experience using UML to visualize software architecture and design
- Exposure to software development lifecycles including Waterfall and Agile
- Knowledge of software configuration management
- Experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps Server or GitHub
- Strong written and interpersonal communication
- Experience leading teams or projects in a technical capacity
Security and eligibility
Active and transferable DoD Secret clearance is required prior to start. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a government security clearance.
