Principal Software Engineer

NFI Industries is hiring a Principal Software Engineer in Trenton, NJ (onsite) to build and evolve the company’s Digital Twin.

Responsibilities

• Lead ongoing maintenance of the Digital Twin and related technologies
• Drive interoperability across the Digital Twin and related data
• Report team and project performance using defined KPIs
• Produce flowcharts, layouts, and documentation that capture requirements and proposed solutions
• Create and maintain quarterly roadmaps for internal and customer leadership review
• Organize and participate in project meetings to discuss scope, requirements, design, planning, and status
• Apply best practices across analysis, design, coding, testing, upgrades, and production control in a team setting to support timely software delivery
• Deploy software programs and evaluate user feedback
• Ensure software updates include the latest features
• Write well-designed, testable code
• Develop software verification plans and quality assurance procedures
• Integrate software components into a fully functional software system

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or Related Engineering
• 7+ years of experience working in a corporate engineering or software development environment
• Well-rounded experience in engineering planning and implementation, analytics, and relationship development
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Exceptional ability to work autonomously
• Ability to start quickly and perform in a fast-paced, high-activity atmosphere
• Strong experience with Python and SQL; proficiency with software engineering tools
• Experience with test-driven development
• Ability to conduct software reviews and provide status updates to leadership
• Ability to run project meetings focused on requirements and design

Preferred Requirements

• 10+ years experience working in a corporate engineering or Supply Chain consulting environment
• Sound knowledge of Supply Chain Engineering, Software Engineering, Data and Platforms Engineering
• Experience with supply chain modeling platforms: Supply Chain Guru, Llama.ai, NextMV, Gains, Sophus, Starboard, Optilogic, or TMOD
• Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments
• Experience with Go / Golang
• Experience with ML Algorithms, Optimization Algorithms, and Building AI Native Apps / MCP

Compensation: USD 106,486 - 141,981 per year.

Location: Trenton, NJ (onsite).

Reporting line: Reports to the Sr. Director of Solutions Engineering.
