Job Description
The role focuses on Oracle and Teradata development and support, with additional work across ETL-related tooling and analytics delivery. You will work on legacy script reverse engineering, enable migration toward established tooling, and build Cognos-based reporting and Framework packages.
Responsibilities
- Reverse engineer, break down, and enhance legacy scripts written in KSH, .CMD, VBScript, and other legacy ETL scripting languages
- Translate legacy scripts into future established tools
- Build SQL and scripts, including work with tool sets such as fast export
- Support existing and new projects across the Oracle and Teradata environments
- Convert existing legacy jobs into more streamlined jobs that require less ongoing support
- Support and build reporting and analytic solutions using COGNOS, as well as through database technologies
- Build COGNOS Framework packages and deploy them in sandbox and production environments
Requirements
- Strong experience with Oracle, SQL, PLSQL Plus, and PL/SQL Loader, including development tools used to create, troubleshoot, and debug SQL
- UNIX skills including development and scripting with KSH, use of environment variables, and understanding of user/application permissions, UNIX/UI interfaces, and CFI/FTP functionality
- Experience across multiple versions of Windows and UNIX, and experience with tools including IBM Datastage, Teradata, and Cognos
- Knowledge of how to work with and troubleshoot database technologies using Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Knowledge of Teradata access and interfacing, along with building SQL/scripts and using tool sets such as fast export
- Knowledge of IBM Datastage, including how it works and the ability to support existing and new projects
- Analytics capability to support and build reporting and analytic solutions in COGNOS, as well as through database technologies
- Strong knowledge of building COGNOS Framework packages and deploying them to sandbox and production environments
