.Net Developer
Job Description
CGI Group, Inc. is looking for a full stack .Net Developer to support the design and delivery of a modern, services-based web application for a large government agency. The team operates using Agile practices and builds with .Net Core and C#, with collaboration across stakeholders including clients and end users.
This hybrid role is based in Lafayette, LA (also noted as Knoxville, TN with hybrid acceptable) and requires U.S. citizenship; CGI cannot sponsor international hires for this position.
Role summary
You will help shape and build an enterprise application used across government agencies, states, and industry to support federal reporting requirements, data sharing, and visualization. The work is focused on sustainable, high performing application features, supported by a contemporary technology stack and cloud-ready, containerization-oriented architecture.
Responsibilities
- Author and review web application code using .Net Core and C#.
- Participate in daily team discussions and collaborative coding sessions to maintain continuous progress.
- Provide technical insight and feedback by engaging with clients, industry partners, and end users.
- Contribute to technical design sessions for building maintainable application features.
- Produce accurate development estimates and help define timelines for feature delivery.
- Support ongoing architectural enhancements and application modernization.
- Collaborate with clients and end users to understand needs and discuss architectural or technical decisions.
What you’ll do in Agile delivery
- Work across application design, development estimation, implementation, code review, and stakeholder demonstrations as part of the Agile lifecycle.
- Write high quality software while addressing design and architecture challenges with attention to detail and enthusiasm.
Required qualifications
- Minimum 4+ years of experience in web application development.
- Strong background in .Net development and full stack application experience.
- Working knowledge of RESTful web services, modern development practices, and Agile delivery methodologies.
- Confidence structuring application code using best practices and contributing to team knowledge sharing.
- Strong understanding of modern .Net Core and C# development practices.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate within a dynamic Agile team environment.
- Experience with modern development tools, including Visual Studio, Git, DevOps pipelines, and containerization platforms.
- Understanding of RESTful service development and integration.
- Confident communication skills with team members and customers.
- Ability to quickly research, learn, and apply emerging technologies.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- U.S. citizenship required, with no international sponsorship available for this role.
