.NET Developer

This on-site opportunity with i3Tech supports the Nevada Department of Child and Family Services in designing, developing, and modernizing web applications and SQL Server databases using ASP.NET Core and Blazor. The contract runs through 2026 with the potential for extension, and compensation is $65-$75 per hour on a 1099 basis. Local candidates in Carson City, NV only.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain web-based applications aligned with current and future business needs
• Design, develop, and troubleshoot SQL Server databases, queries, stored procedures, views, and related objects
• Support early-stage modernization efforts, migrating legacy Web Forms or AngularJS applications to ASP.NET Core and Blazor-based architectures
• Performance tuning, data integrity, and issue resolution for databases
• Conduct R&D to ensure alignment with DCFS development standards and documentation practices
• Participate in unit testing, documentation, and validation of developed solutions
• Support enterprise applications, including APIs, interfaces, database components, and new modules
• Assist IT initiatives to empower internal developers to focus on high-priority work
• Provide maintenance and support for current DCFS applications and related databases
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following industry best practices
• Test and validate components for accuracy and interoperability with other IT projects
• Analyze functional and technical requirements
• Attend project meetings related to DCFS initiatives
• Gather, document, and validate business requirements
• Document findings and observations from system evaluations
• Maintain up-to-date development records, including technical design documents and test cases
• Provide regular status updates on completed work and remaining tasks
• Collaborate with technical and operational teams on integrations, reporting, data validation, and troubleshooting
• Create technical design documents and testing outlines
• Develop use cases and test cases as needed

Requirements

• At least 10 years of hands-on Microsoft Visual Studio experience
• Proficiency in C# and ASP.NET
• Extensive SQL Server/database development experience
• Experience with Db2 and COBOL
• Strong JavaScript skills with experience in Angular or Blazor
• Web Services experience
• Focused on delivering robust web-based software solutions and supporting enterprise database environments
• Minimum 10 years of database design experience
• Query optimization, stored procedures, data integration, and reporting capabilities
• Troubleshooting database-related issues
• ASP.NET Core Blazor experience
• Entity Framework Core
• RESTful APIs and component-based UI development
