CAI is hiring a .NET Developer (Power BI) for a fully remote 5-month+ contract, with interviews requiring onsite presence in Trenton, NJ.

Analyze, design, and develop .NET application code for the Application Team
Build and maintain .NET web applications using ASP.NET Core and MVC
Create and maintain data access layers using Entity Framework Core and established best practices
Develop backend components including services, APIs, and console applications
Implement responsive front-end interfaces using JavaScript frameworks
Support component/assembly testing and maintain code quality through testing and code reviews
Design, maintain, and optimize SQL Server databases
Manage database schema changes with EF Core Code-First or Database-First approaches, including migrations
Write complex SQL including stored procedures and functions
Work with EF Core LINQ queries and optimize database operations
Troubleshoot database issues and improve query performance
Develop and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements
Ensure data accuracy and optimize report performance
Maintain production systems as part of maintenance, including production support
Use development and testing tools such as Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, SSMS, Power BI Desktop, Power BI Report Builder, Postman, and similar technologies

2+ years of experience (minimum) and 3+ years in relevant areas as listed below
3+ years of professional experience in .NET development (C#, ASP.NET, .NET Core)
3+ years using Entity Framework with Database-First or Code-First, or other ORM tools
3+ years of SQL Server experience including database design, querying in SQL Server and T-SQL, and optimization
3+ years of solid JavaScript experience with hands-on work in 2+ frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js, jQuery)
3+ years of experience with RESTful API design and implementation
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
3+ years of experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
3+ years of experience with HTML5, CSS3, and modern front-end build tools
2+ years of demonstrated experience in Power BI report development and data visualization
Ability to safely perform essential job functions consistent with ADA and other federal, state, and local standards

Full-time professional work experience in development and support of IT applications
Successful completion of an IT Certification program, accredited college, and/or graduate training may substitute for required work experience
