Mobile Application Developer

Join Family Dollar for full-time, onsite work at the Family Dollar Chesapeake, VA Store Support Center. This role focuses on building high-performing iOS and Android applications with React Native, combining modern JavaScript/TypeScript development with native-level integration to deliver responsive, reliable mobile experiences.

What you’ll do

• Build pixel-perfect, smooth user interfaces across iOS and Android using React Native.
• Use native APIs and create custom bridges connecting JavaScript to Swift (iOS) and Kotlin (Android) when needed.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and resolve issues so the apps reach native-speed responsiveness.
• Apply clean architectural approaches using modern state management libraries.
• Integrate RESTful or GraphQL backend APIs and manage complex asynchronous workflows.
• Support end-to-end release operations, including deployment pipelines and submissions to the Apple App Store and Google Play Console.
• Maintain clean, documented code and create automated testing suites to protect stability.
• Review and validate work produced by the support team.

What you bring

• Expert JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript proficiency.
• Strong command of the React Native ecosystem, including hooks and component lifecycle.
• Hands-on experience setting up complex navigation patterns with React Navigation.
• Experience with Redux Toolkit, Zustand, or Context API.
• Comfort using platform tooling such as Android Studio and Xcode.
• Proficiency with automated testing frameworks including Browserstack.
• Experience with CI/CD tools for mobile automation, including GitLab Actions.
• Strong Git workflows and repository management.
• Experience with mobile monitoring and debugging tools such as Firebase Crashlytics (or similar).
• Knowledge implementing push notifications and deep linking.
• Experience integrating mobile apps with eCommerce, loyalty, authentication, and enterprise backend systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Mobile Development, or an equivalent technical field.
• 3+ years of professional mobile app development experience.
• Experience migrating existing React.js web applications into mobile environments.
• Familiarity with offline data storage strategies and local synchronization databases such as SQLite or Realm.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Leadership ability to motivate, mentor, and develop team members.
• Oracle Commerce knowledge is a plus.

Salary range: $111,000 to $125,000 per year
