Job Description

This Mainframe Developer/Cobol Developer contract position supports the design, development, testing, and production support of mainframe applications, with ongoing collaboration across technical and business teams to deliver solutions end to end.

Role Summary

As a Mainframe Engineer/Developer, you will create and maintain mainframe software through development, verification, and deployment. You will also provide production support and work with cross-functional teams to move code across development, testing, and production environments.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, enhance, test, and debug mainframe applications.
  • Conduct code analysis, perform troubleshooting, and support production operations.
  • Partner with infrastructure and environment teams to promote code across development, testing, and production environments.
  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to deliver reliable, high-quality solutions.
  • Participate in application maintenance, enhancements, and issue resolution.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience developing and debugging mainframe applications.
  • 5+ years of COBOL development experience.
  • Strong experience with CICS, COBOL, DB2, VSAM, MQ, and JCL.
  • Experience with Endeavor Software Manager.
  • Familiarity with DB2 utilities, File-AID, job schedulers, and debugging tools.
  • Knowledge of secure file transfer processes, including SFTP and AWX.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of CICS Dynamic Transaction Routing.
  • CICS systems administration knowledge.
  • Experience with Java and front-end technologies such as Angular.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Location and Onsite Schedule

  • New Jersey and Westlake, TX (onsite).
  • 5 days on site every other week and 3 Months CTH.
