Job Description
Lead Software Engineer - Middleware at JPMorgan Chase, on-site in New York, NY. In this role you will serve as a core technical contributor on an agile team, designing, building, and securing middleware solutions that support multiple Consumer Banking functions. The position offers a yearly compensation range of USD 152,000 to 215,000.
Responsibilities
- Develops inventive software solutions across design, development, and debugging, with the ability to tackle complex problems beyond routine approaches.
- Produces secure, high quality production code and participates in code reviews and debugging for peers.
- Identifies opportunities to automate recurring remediation to enhance the reliability and stability of software applications and systems.
- Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to scrutinize architectural designs, credentials, and applicability within current information architectures.
- Champions enterprise authorized AI assisted engineering practices to raise code quality and delivery speed, establishing validation standards and promoting reuse of effective patterns across the team.
- Leverages the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including AI assisted development and automation capabilities, to maximize automation value.
Requirements
- 5+ years of middleware software development experience.
- Ability to deliver system design, application development, testing, and operational stability for production services.
- Advanced proficiency in at least one programming language.
- Experience implementing automation and continuous delivery practices (CI/CD).
- Experience executing across all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Proven leadership in the effective use of approved AI assisted software development tools, with the ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security requirements; experience coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption within delivery practices.
- In-depth knowledge of financial services and common enterprise IT systems.
- Practical cloud native engineering experience for delivering solutions.
- Exposure to AWS with Terraform.
