As a Lead Software Engineer within the Equities Electronic Trading Technology group, you will deliver secure, scalable software and guide AI-assisted engineering practices across multiple technical areas to support the firm’s objectives.

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and troubleshoot creative software solutions, going beyond routine approaches to tackle complex problems
- Identify opportunities to reduce toil and automate recurring remediation to improve operational stability
- Promote enterprise AI-assisted engineering practices to raise code quality, speed of delivery, and operational outcomes, while upholding secure coding, peer review, and automated testing standards and encouraging reuse
- Leverage the SDLC toolchain and AI-enabled development to maximize automation value
- Make decisions that shape product design, application functionality, and technical operations
- Influence peers and project stakeholders to adopt leading-edge technologies
- Understand CI/CD needs and lead communities of practice to raise awareness of new technologies
- Develop secure, high-quality production code and review others' work
- Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to probe architectural designs and applicability within existing systems

Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, computer science, or computer engineering with 5+ years of applied experience
- Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Strong knowledge of at least one mainstream language (Java, C++, Python, Go, Kotlin, TypeScript, C#, etc.)
- Proven experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools, with the ability to set team expectations for AI output correctness, performance, and security
- Solid understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling, resiliency, and coaching engineers on safe adoption
- Proficiency in low latency, real-time, scalable trading systems and familiarity with algorithmic trading, including systematic trading
- Ability to work effectively within a global team (NA, EMEA, APAC) and contribute to the Equities technology organization
- Broad understanding of best practices for building efficient software and adherence to guardrails
- Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with minimal oversight; experience with FinOps
- Familiarity with CI/CD and practical knowledge of tools such as Jenkins or TeamCity
- Experience with high throughput messaging APIs and middleware products
