Lead .NET Developer

Marathon TS is seeking a .Net Team Lead to support a government contract for the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in Arlington, VA. This onsite, client-facing role involves guiding a small team and delivering modernized software using ASP.NET MVC and C#, with a requirement for an Active Secret clearance.

The position is designed for an experienced engineer who can lead technical planning and reviews, help ensure requirements and software quality are upheld, and support modernization of development practices in an Agile environment.

Role summary

• Support the DEA mission through software development and modernization for classified applications
• Lead a small team of 5-7 developers and contribute to technical decision-making, best practices, and team efficiencies
• Deliver improvements using modern, modular software development techniques

Responsibilities

• Lead technical planning meetings and provide direction to the team on execution and technical decisions
• Perform peer code reviews and final code reviews
• Ensure quality and integrity of software before it reaches production
• Apply modern software development techniques for a modular system
• Support modernization of software development practices as the software applications and environment evolve
• Ensure Requirements Analysts’ data is accurately reflected in the appropriate system of record
• Demonstrate professionalism and effective conduct in a client-facing role
• Collaborate effectively with leadership and customers
• Have experience transitioning between small projects and applications and delivering quickly
• Package and deliver software and documentation to a production environment
• Learn new technologies introduced over time

Required experience and qualifications

• US citizenship
• Active Secret clearance to view, discuss, and handle classified data
• Recent experience (at least 5+ years) with ASP.NET MVC web development using Visual Studio
• Significant recent C# development
• Significant recent Java Script development
• Significant development experience with Cascading System Sheets (CSS)
• Experience with relational data models and SQL
• Experience with XML and programming libraries for XML manipulation
• Agile project and development experience using Team Foundation Server
• Experience as a developer in an environment supporting 10,000+ users and an RDBMS with 250+ tables and 1 million+ rows
• Experience in at least one development environment with 1,000+ automated unit tests

Experience and education

• Minimum 15 years of web development experience
• Minimum 5 years of .NET Core/Standard development experience
• Minimum 10 years of ASP.NET C# MVC based web development using Visual Studio 2017 or higher
• Minimum 8 years working in Agile development methodologies, including participation in Sprints, Backlog grooming, and Agile ceremonies
• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field (desired)

  • Leveraging distance measurement tools on maps in a web browser

Work location and schedule

• Onsite, M-F in Arlington, VA with no flexibility

Compensation: USD 120,000 - 145,000 per year.
