Lead Java Developer

Learn beyond Consulting is hiring a Lead Java Developer for an onsite role in Houston, TX. If you want to work on Java backend systems where performance and reliability matter, this position focuses on building and modernizing components for trading environments, including support for an on-prem to AWS migration. The rate is USD 80 per hour.

What you’ll deliver

• Develop and maintain high-performance, low-latency Java applications
• Contribute heavily hands-on, with backend work estimated at about 70% coding and testing
• Build scalable and reliable components for trading systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across trading, product, and infrastructure
• Participate in system design, architecture, and performance tuning
• Support modernization efforts, including on-prem to AWS migration
• Maintain code quality using testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines

Core requirements

• Strong expertise in Java backend development
• Experience with high-volume and low-latency systems
• Solid understanding of multithreading, concurrency, and performance tuning
• Hands-on coding and testing experience
• Ability to perform well in technical coding assessments
