Job Description
Base-2 Solutions is hiring a Junior Software Engineer in Hanover, Maryland for onsite work. In this role, you’ll help develop and improve software systems that support national defense decision-making, with an emphasis on disciplined engineering, testing, and practical design trade-offs within a cleared environment.
You will work on complex software that may include analytics, real-time capabilities, and systems that handle extremely large datasets, while contributing to design discussions from system level down to individual components.
What You’ll Do
- Develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems based on documented requirements, including processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large datasets, real-time systems, and business management information systems.
- Work individually or as part of a team to deliver software functionality.
- Review and test software components for alignment with design requirements, and document test results.
- Resolve software problem reports.
- Apply software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment.
- Provide input to software components of system design, including hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, and decisions involving Commercial Off-the-shelf (COTS) or Government Off-the-shelf (GOTS) solutions versus new development, along with requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to software components.
Requirements
- No demonstrated experience is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
- Four (4) years of software engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
Security Clearance
- Active Top Secret/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph
