Job Description
Melton Truck Lines offers an on site software development role in Tulsa, OK with a strong benefits package and a collaborative culture. As a Junior Software Developer, you will partner with senior developers, IT staff, and business stakeholders to design, test, and maintain applications that support daily operations. The role welcomes new technologies and responsible use of AI tools to boost productivity and code quality, all in a hands-on in office setting. Standard hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional after hours for maintenance, projects, system updates, or outages.

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain internal software applications and integrations
- Produce clean, maintainable, and well documented code aligned with coding standards
- Identify, debug, and resolve software defects and production issues
- Engage in code reviews and integrate feedback from senior developers
- Collaborate with business users to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Create and maintain technical documentation for applications and processes
- Assist with database design, queries, and data integrations
- Contribute to application testing, deployment, and ongoing support
- Continuously learn new technologies, languages, and development practices
- Use AI assisted development tools responsibly to improve efficiency, automate repetitive tasks, generate documentation, and aid troubleshooting while validating generated code for security, accuracy, and maintainability
- Follow organizational security policies and secure coding practices
- Work Hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday
- Occasional after hours may be required for maintenance, projects, system updates, or outages
Requirements
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 1 to 3 years of software development experience, including internships or personal projects
- Experience with one or more languages such as C#, Java, Python, JavaScript, or similar
- Solid basic understanding of SQL and relational databases
- Familiarity with Git or other source control systems
- Knowledge of object oriented programming principles
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team
