Java Software Engineer

Shield Consulting Solutions offers a Java-focused Agile software development opportunity in Annapolis Junction, MD (onsite), with $140,000 to $150,000 per year and benefits designed to support you from day one. You will work on a Java-based effort and expand your skills with modern technologies including Quarkus and PrimeFaces, while contributing to quality and delivery in a customer-facing environment.

What you’ll do

• Join a software development effort using Java as the primary language.
• Support an Agile process for assigning, tracking, and managing software activities and requirements within the team.
• Broaden Java skills through hands-on work with Quarkus and PrimeFaces.
• Design or implement complex algorithms while adhering to strict timing, system resource, and interface constraints.
• Perform quality control on team products.
• Implement recommendations to improve documentation and software development process standards.
• Collaborate with the customer as a team to derive software requirements and gather details on project limitations and capabilities, including performance requirements and interfaces.
• Coordinate software system installation and monitor equipment functions to ensure operational specifications are met.

Requirements

• 7 years of experience as a software engineer
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline
• 4 additional years of software engineering experience may be substituted for the degree
• Active TS/SCI w/Polygraph REQUIRED
