Java Full stack Developer

Pyramid Consulting, Inc is offering a 12+ month contract opportunity in Plano, TX (onsite) for a Java full stack developer. If you value building enterprise solutions with modern backend and automation practices, this role focuses on creating platform capabilities, REST APIs, microservices, and CI/CD-integrated automation. You will also work with AI-assisted development tooling, including GitHub Copilot, to help accelerate delivery while keeping quality and governance in mind.

What you’ll do

• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-grade software using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build RESTful APIs and microservices that automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, lifecycle management, and operational workflows.
• Develop platform automation capabilities across compute, storage, networking, virtualization, and HCI services.
• Engineer infrastructure-as-code and API-driven automation frameworks to support standardized platform deployments.
• Integrate automation solutions into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous delivery and infrastructure lifecycle management.
• Collaborate with infrastructure architects, virtualization engineers, and cloud platform teams to define automation requirements and implementation patterns.
• Use AI-assisted development tools, including GitHub Copilot, to accelerate software delivery while maintaining engineering quality and governance standards.

What you bring

• 5+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong emphasis on backend or platform engineering.
• Expert-level Java proficiency and modern software engineering practices.
• Hands-on experience building RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Demonstrated experience developing automation solutions for infrastructure and platform environments such as private cloud, virtualization, storage, networking, or related areas.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure-as-code and API-driven automation principles.
• Proficiency with Linux and scripting languages used for automation and troubleshooting.
• Experience with container technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
