Java Algo Developer, Fixed Income Trading, Vice President
Job Description
Senior Java Algo Developer within Citi's Fixed Income Algo Technology team, onsite in New York, NY, with a focus on building high performance, low latency trading components and advancing spread-product algorithmic trading.
Responsibilities
- Architect and implement reusable components for the algo trading platform, emphasizing speed and low latency.
- Work directly with traders, quants, and product managers to capture business requirements and translate them into functional platform enhancements.
- Ensure reliability, scalability, and performance of core algorithmic modules.
- Collaborate with the broader electronic trading teams and Production Support to maintain and upgrade live trading systems.
- Follow rigorous engineering standards and pursue best-in-class design and development practices.
Requirements
- 6 to 10 years of hands-on Java development experience, focused on low-latency, high-throughput distributed applications.
- Strong grounding in computer science fundamentals, data structures, design patterns, object oriented programming, and algorithms complexity analysis.
- Experience with messaging systems such as Solace and Kafka.
- Practical exposure to Chronicle and/or Aeron.
- Knowledge of distributed caching strategies.
- Proven track record building and supporting market data processing and trading applications.
- Experience designing robust back-testing frameworks and managing historical data storage.
- Basic Linux performance tuning and monitoring skills, with ability to troubleshoot performance issues in the Java/Linux stack.
- Familiarity with build and CI tools, including Gradle, Git, TeamCity, Jenkins, and Artifactory.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Engineering, or a related technical/quantitative discipline is preferred.
