IT Software Developer - Associate
Job Description
This IT Software Developer Associate role at UMC Health System is based in Lubbock, TX with a hybrid work arrangement, focusing on researching, designing, building, testing, debugging and maintaining software systems to meet client requirements.
Responsibilities
- Analyze new programming requests and develop software solutions with minimal assistance.
- Prepare user references by creating operating instructions when appropriate.
- Develop solutions to programming requests approved by the IT Steering Committee and IT management.
- Route all changes to the production environment through the IT change control process.
- Confirm project requirements by reviewing the client’s user story and desired output, ensuring the design and build are completed successfully, clearly documented and tested while applying best practices.
- Field incoming tickets and work to resolve issues, escalating as needed when resolution is not possible.
- Communicate status updates of tasks, project plans, risk points and milestones to appropriate team members and management in a timely and meaningful fashion.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED, with a Bachelor’s degree highly recommended.
- 4+ years of relevant work experience.
- ITIL Foundations or professional certification preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Aptitude for applying programming techniques to solve business needs.
- Strong analytical and problem solving/resolution skills.
Interaction with Other Departments and Other Relationships
- Will interact with both clinical and non-clinical departments within UMC Health System and TTUHSC to gather requirements, validate and resolve issues relating to reports and data analysis.
Physical Capabilities
- Occasionally exerts a small amount of force to lift, carry, push, pull, and move objects; work is largely sedentary with brief periods of walking or standing.
