Factory Software Engineer
Job Description
Join SpaceX in Bastrop, TX on site to contribute to Starlink manufacturing software, build deployment tooling, and help diagnose software and hardware challenges to boost factory output. This role focuses on delivering reliable, scalable software that powers in-house device production and continuous improvement within a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Starlink factory engineering teams to enable in-house device fabrication
- Develop new tooling to enable more frequent and dependable software deployments, tests, and data analysis within a continuous integration and release framework
- Architect and implement highly available, fault-tolerant systems designed for long uptimes with minimal intervention
- Build test execution capabilities across multiple environments, including virtualized hardware and hardware-in-the-loop simulations
- Set up and maintain servers and networking gear for factory use
- Contribute to architecture, design, and code reviews
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or a STEM discipline; OR 2+ years of professional software engineering experience in lieu of a degree (internship experience is applicable)
- Development experience in Python, Golang, C++, or Rust

- Experience addressing security considerations in distributed systems and internet services
Additional requirements
Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed
