This remote role centers on supporting VA healthcare IT platforms through Edifecs based EDI solutions and data mappings. You will design, develop, and implement Edifecs driven data exchanges while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate data flow across cloud systems. Responsibilities

• Partner with business subject matter experts to capture and refine requirements, validating technical feasibility and alignment with project goals.
• Configure Edifecs applications, including XEngine, to process EDI transactions, define business rules, implement custom error validations, and ensure HIPAA and trading partner specifications are met.
• Design, update, and maintain EDI maps, profiles, and guidelines using Edifecs SpecBuilder and MapBuilder for standard HIPAA transaction sets such as 837, 834, 835, 820, 277, 278, and others.
• Translate business and data requirements into standardized X12 formats for both inbound and outbound EDI transactions.
• Perform unit and integration testing and coordinate with QA teams to verify solution accuracy and reliability.
• Identify and resolve issues related to EDI transmission, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions promptly.
• Integrate Edifecs solutions with external applications, databases, and middleware to enable seamless, automated exchange and accurate processing of X12 transactions across trading partners.
• Provide post-implementation support, including applying updates and patches to maintain performance and compliance with evolving standards.
• Serve as a liaison between clients and internal technical teams to facilitate effective communication and timely issue resolution.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 4+ years of experience. Equivalent professional experience or certifications may be considered for certain technical roles.
• Hands-on experience with Edifecs applications, including XEngine, SpecBuilder, Transaction Management (TM), and Edifecs Application Manager (EAM).
• Proven ability to develop, configure, and optimize workflows for healthcare EDI transactions such as 837, 834, 835, 270/271, 276/277, 278, and to manage trading partner configurations.
• Solid understanding of HIPAA compliant EDI transactions and healthcare implementation guidelines.
• Demonstrated expertise in EDI standards and healthcare domain knowledge, including familiarity with payer systems and government healthcare processes.
• Proficiency in SQL, XML, XSLT, JavaScript, and Groovy for data transformation and validation tasks.
• Experience integrating Edifecs solutions with relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle) and APIs (REST, SOAP).
• Strong ability to analyze system logs, troubleshoot errors, and fine-tune XEngine performance for accuracy and efficiency.
• Familiarity with Edifecs features such as message tracking, exception handling, and reporting tools.
• Experience working in Agile development environments with active participation in sprint planning, reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Effective communication skills suited for remote collaboration and clear technical documentation.
