Location: On-site in Chicago, IL 60608. Hours are 7:00 am or 7:30 am start times through 4:00 pm, with one Saturday per month 7:30 am to 1:00 pm.

Role Overview

We seek a versatile .NET developer to design, implement, and maintain critical internal applications powering Finance, Sales, and Operations. In addition to traditional software development, you will partner with an AI Enablement Specialist to translate business needs into technical AI solutions, including integration of LLMs and AI agents to enhance existing tools.

Core Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust backend services and APIs using C# and .NET Core/8+ to support Finance, Sales, and Operations.
• Collaborate with the AI Enablement Specialist to convert process audits into AI requirements and integrate AI capabilities into business tools.
• Build secure integrations between internal SQL Server databases, ERP/CRM systems, and third-party APIs to ensure smooth data flow for traditional apps and AI agents.
• Design and deploy agentic workflows that can perceive data, reason through tasks, and take action, enabling use cases like automated financial reconciliation or lead triage.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing legacy applications while optimizing for performance and security.
• Ensure data privacy, security, and ethics across applications and AI tools, especially when handling sensitive financial and customer information.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong experience with C#, .NET Core/8+, and ASP.NET Core for web and service development.
• Solid knowledge of SQL Server, including schema design, T-SQL, and Entity Framework Core.
• Proven ability to design and consume RESTful APIs and secure them with OAuth2/OpenID Connect.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure or AWS) and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
• Ability to work with non-technical business partners to document requirements and translate them into effective software solutions.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with .NET Core.
• On-site work in Chicago, IL 60608 (ability to commute).

Bonus Qualifications (AI Agent Experience)

• Experience with AI orchestration frameworks such as Semantic Kernel, LangChain, or AutoGen.
• Experience integrating LLMs via OpenAI API or Azure OpenAI, including Prompt Engineering and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
• Familiarity with vector stores like Pinecone, Milvus, or Azure AI Search for long-term AI memory.
• Proven ability to build multi-step, autonomous agents that leverage APIs to complete complex business tasks.
