Data Scientist / Software Engineer (NLP & Java) - Expert

Falls Technology is seeking an expert-level Data Scientist / Software Engineer to design NLP and machine learning capabilities in Python and integrate them into production Java and Spring applications. The role supports a federal national-security mission and is based on-site in McLean, VA.

Role Summary

You will build and operationalize NLP and deep learning solutions that run within Java/Spring ecosystems on AWS for a security-focused environment. This is a full-time position requiring active TS/SCI with Polygraph and U.S. citizenship. The work will be performed on-site in McLean, VA.

Responsibilities

• Develop NLP capabilities using spaCy, Gensim, NLTK, and Hugging Face Transformers.
• Build and integrate deep learning models using PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Keras.
• Create backend services with Java, Spring, and Spring Data JPA, backed by Oracle and SQL.
• Deploy solutions on AWS and Linux using Git, Jenkins, and Apache Tomcat.
• Integrate models into operational applications and workflows for mission execution.

Required Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph.
• Strong Python and NLP experience with spaCy, Gensim, or NLTK.
• Experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Keras.
• SQL experience.
• Linux, Git, and AWS experience.
• U.S. citizenship required.

• Experience with GPU workloads.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position is USD 175,000 per year.
