Job Description

As a Data Engineer within MassMutual’s Corporate Technology Data Engineering & Analytics team in Boston, MA on a hybrid schedule, you will help design and implement ELT pipelines, data marts, and data warehouse solutions to support Investment Management. You will work closely with analysts, architects, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable data solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and assess intricate ELT workflows that consolidate diverse data sources into high-integrity, reliable data assets.
  • Contribute to data modeling policies, procedures, and standards, providing actionable feedback.
  • Capture and document system flows and other technical details about data, database design, and related systems.
  • Establish comprehensive data quality standards and implement effective tools to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
  • Collaborate with Investment Management teams to understand new data patterns and requirements.
  • Work with Data Analysts, Data Architects, and BI developers to deliver scalable data solutions aligned with business goals.
  • Translate high level business requirements into detailed technical specifications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or a related technical field.
  • Eight or more years of experience in data analytics, data modeling, and database design.
  • Five or more years of experience with ELT methodologies and tools.
  • Five or more years of experience in designing, developing, tuning, and troubleshooting SQL.
  • Three or more years of coding and scripting experience in Python, Java, or Scala, including design work.
  • Two or more years of experience with the Spark framework.
