Data Engineer - AWS

Deloitte is hiring a Data Engineer III on the AI & Data team to support technology-focused client delivery with an AWS-centric data engineering focus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver client engagements focused on AWS-based data engineering and delivery
• Manage day-to-day interactions with client stakeholders and sponsors as the primary technical point of contact for your workstreams
• Lead teams through business requirements gathering, functional design, process mapping, and support-model definition
• Provide technical direction throughout requirements, design, planning, and delivery activities
• Develop and maintain project scope, schedule, and resource plans for your workstream, adjusting as engagement needs evolve
• Maintain clear and consistent communication with client stakeholders and internal engagement leadership

Requirements

• 8+ years of relevant technology consulting experience in cloud modernization, data engineering, and business intelligence
• 3+ years of experience with AWS-based data lakes, data warehouses, analytics platforms, and operational data stores
• 3+ years of experience with AWS data services, including: AWS Glue, EMR, S3, Athena, Redshift, RDS, Lambda, or Step Functions
• 5+ years hands-on experience with Python, PySpark, SQL, and PL/SQL
• 2+ years of experience leading, managing, and delivering workstreams or small teams with complex technical engagements with resources in multiple locations
• Ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a team
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Meticulous attention to detail and quality of work product
• Ability to build and sustain professional relationships
• Ability to lead projects or workstreams
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, AI, or related field
• Travel of 50% on average, based on work, clients, and industries/sectors served
