Job Description

Slalom is hiring a Data Engineer for its Google Center of Excellence to help design, build, and modernize enterprise data platforms on Google Cloud. This hybrid role in Atlanta, GA supports batch and real-time pipelines, governed analytics, and AI-ready data foundations, with work driven by a project backlog and client delivery needs.

Compensation: Base salary range is $100,000 - $115,000 per year for Consultant, depending on experience. Individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation will depend on skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors.

What you’ll do

  • Design, build, and modernize enterprise data platforms on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Deliver solutions using BigQuery, Dataplex, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Vertex AI, Looker, and other Google Cloud services.
  • Support client work including migration and modernization of data estates, implementation of real-time and batch pipelines, and enabling governed analytics and AI-ready data foundations.
  • Participate in design sessions.
  • Own timely completion of assigned development items in a project backlog.

Core skills and experience

  • Big Data Platforms such as Dataproc and Apache Spark.
  • Google BigQuery, BigLake, and Cloud SQL.
  • Programming: Python, Java, and SQL.
  • Experience with data and database technologies including Firestore, Bigtable, Spanner, and MongoDB.
  • Cloud and orchestration tools such as Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) and Cloud Run.
  • Streaming and pipeline tooling including Pub/Sub, Dataflow, and Apache Kafka.
  • Managed Airflow, dbt, and Dataplex.

Hybrid work requirement: Be within commutable distance to one of Slalom’s listed office locations and work in a hybrid environment with expectation to be in-person with Slalom teams and clients as needed.
