Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement data engineering activities on mission driven projects using advanced technology solutions.
• Deploy and enhance pipelines and platforms that organize disparate data into meaningful analytics.
• Lead and collaborate with a multi disciplinary team of analysts, data engineers, developers, and data consumers in a fast paced agile environment.
• Oversee the assessment, design, building, and ongoing maintenance of scalable client platforms through analytical exploration and data examination.

Requirements

• 3+ years designing cloud native data platforms in AWS
• 2+ years designing scalable data lake, warehouse, and analytics solutions
• 2+ years of cloud migration and modernization efforts
• 2+ years of experience with data pipelines, including data acquisition, data prep, and database architecture
• Experience with data engineering projects supporting data science, AI/ML implementations, and business intelligence dashboards
• Experience with non relational and semi relational databases
• Experience creating software for retrieving, parsing, and processing structured and unstructured data
• Experience with team lead functions, delivering solutions within a collaborative, cross functional team environment
• TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
• Bachelor's degree in computer science

As a data engineer, you will organize data from diverse sources to unlock actionable insights that support important missions, from fraud detection to cancer research to national intelligence.

At Booz Allen, you will help build advanced technology solutions and execute data engineering activities on mission driven projects. You will deploy and develop pipelines and platforms that organize disparate data into meaningful, interoperable forms.

You will work with and guide a multi disciplinary team of analysts, data engineers, developers, and data consumers in a fast paced, agile environment. Your experience in analytical exploration and data examination will inform the design, building, and maintenance of scalable platforms for clients.

NICE IF YOU HAVE

• Experience with PySpark and Spark ecosystems such as Databricks and EMR
• Experience evaluating data analytics or science technologies and platforms
• Experience going through an A&A process or leading modifications
• Experience with cloud architecture and evaluating and selecting cloud analytics architectures
• Experience with data marts and data warehouses and creating, managing, and troubleshooting complex operational data flows
• Experience with source code management and integration such as GitHub
• Experience designing, developing, deploying, or testing in AWS
• Experience scripting with Python and SQL
• Experience with APIs development
• AWS architecture certifications such as Solution Architect Certification

Clearance

TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph is required.

Compensation

Salary range: USD 77,600 to 176,000 per year. This posting will close within 90 days from the posting date.
