Job Description

Dialed In Staffing is hiring an AWS Java Developer to serve as a technical bridge between a federal customer and AWS. In this hybrid, contract role based in Washington, DC, you will support and troubleshoot AWS services and integrations while helping optimize application code, cloud architecture, and security compliance.

What you will do

  • Act as a primary point of contact for customers to troubleshoot and resolve issues involving AWS services, APIs, and AWS SDK configuration, targeting minimal downtime and strong performance.
  • Write and debug application code to improve system performance, scalability, and security.
  • Create and maintain Python-based AWS Lambda functions that support backend integrations with RDS and API Gateway endpoints.
  • Run integration tests and perform AWS code reviews to support quality and adherence to security standards.
  • Monitor cloud infrastructure and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborate with development, security, and operations teams to resolve bugs and refine product design while ensuring solutions remain scalable, secure, and cost-effective.

What you must have

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience with Python and Java programming over AWS Lambda APIs.
  • 5+ years of experience with AWS infrastructure, including EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, and EKS/ECS.
  • 5+ years of experience with Linux/Unix or Windows Server Administration.
  • Familiarity with automating deployment using tools such as CloudFormation or Terraform.
  • Experience integrating GitLab or GitHub with AWS CodePipeline and CI/CD delivery modes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to work with technical teams and business stakeholders.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills for distributed systems and network connectivity issues.
  • US Citizenship.

Nice to have

  • Active AWS Certification: AWS Certified Developer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer.
  • Familiarity with Docker and container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.

Location: Washington, DC (hybrid). Job type: contract. Compensation: USD 90 per hour. Minimum experience: 3 years.
