Job Description
Northrop Grumman invites applications for an Associate Simulation Software Engineer or Simulation Software Engineer. The role centers on designing, developing, and testing cloud-based solutions and deployment pipelines to host simulation software and infrastructure, with onsite work in Oklahoma City, OK or Melbourne, FL.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain automated cloud environments using infrastructure-as-code and configuration management tools.
- Develop, modify, and maintain pipelines to deploy cloud infrastructure and related services, adhering to engineering best practices across the full lifecycle.
- Engage in integration testing, formal system testing, releases, installation, and ongoing maintenance efforts.
- Collaborate within Agile Scrum teams to deliver software across multiple baselines.
- Interact with customers on occasion; strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication are essential.
Basic Qualifications for Associate Simulation Software Engineer (Level 1)
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a STEM discipline with 0 years of related engineering experience.
- Experience with at least one of the following languages: C, C++, or Python.
- Active U.S. Government Secret or higher clearance, with the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance prior to employment.
Basic Qualifications for Simulation Software Engineer (Level 2)
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 2 years of software engineering experience, or a Master’s degree in STEM with 0 years of software engineering experience, or a PhD in STEM with 0 years of software engineering experience.
- Experience with at least one of the following programming or scripting languages: C, C++, and Python.
- Active U.S. Government Secret or higher clearance, with the ability to obtain and maintain SAP clearance prior to employment.
Preferred Qualifications for Both Level 1 and Level 2 Software Engineers
- Strong understanding of C and C++ including templates, memory management, and compiler/linker behavior.
- Experience with two or more of these tools: Jira, Crucible, Bitbucket, Subversion, Bamboo, Jenkins, Gitlab, SonarQube, Fortify, or Coverity.
- Experience with the full Software Development Life Cycle from design to deployment.
- Knowledge of Joint Simulation Environment (JSE), Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS), or High-Level Architecture (HLA).
- Experience with Full-Motion Flight Training Systems and simulated threat environments such as AFSIM or NGTS.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code and configuration management.
- Familiarity with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment concepts and tools such as Gitlab, Bamboo, or Jenkins.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across all organizational levels.

Salary
- Primary level salary range: $62,300.00 - $98,800.00
- Secondary level salary range: $75,100.00 - $118,900.00
