Job Description

AnySignal is building embedded and space software for mission-critical radio systems used in space and defense. In this onsite role on the Space Software team in Los Angeles, CA, you will help develop embedded C++ software that runs on Linux-based systems and interfaces with FPGA and networking components, supporting advanced flight-system integration.

What you’ll work on

  • Develop mission-critical embedded C++ that runs on Linux-based embedded systems.
  • Partner with software, hardware, DSP, and FPGA engineers to help define system requirements, interfaces, and architecture.
  • Contribute to hardware bring-up, participate in schematic reviews, and perform hands-on debugging of embedded radio platforms.
  • Build and maintain automated hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) tests to validate performance and reliability.
  • Diagnose complex issues spanning embedded hardware and software systems.
  • Work with customers to integrate products into flight systems, debug RF links, and support mission success.

Skills and experience needed

  • Working knowledge of C++ or C.
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience, or equivalent internship, coursework, or hands-on project experience in embedded systems.
  • Experience developing software on Linux platforms or microcontrollers.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and take ownership of technical challenges.
  • Genuine interest in how the hardware your software controls actually behaves.

Tools and technologies you may use

  • Embedded and software: C++, C, Linux, microcontrollers, Python
  • Networking: TCP/IP, UDP, socket and network programming
  • Build and workflow: CMake, Make, Bazel, GitLab, CI pipeline development
  • Embedded Linux tooling: Buildroot, U-Boot, Xilinx FSBL
  • FPGA and platforms: RTL, FPGAs, Xilinx MPSoC, hardware-in-the-loop testing
  • RF and lab validation: spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, RF test equipment, embedded Linux

Desired background

  • Network programming experience (TCP/IP, UDP, socket programming).
  • Understanding of DSP, modem design, and RF communications concepts.
  • Board bring-up, schematic review, and hardware troubleshooting experience.
  • Hands-on RF hardware testing and debugging using spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and other RF test equipment.
  • Experience developing for Xilinx MPSoC-based devices.
  • Experience with embedded Linux development such as Buildroot and creating U-Boot and Xilinx FSBL.
  • Experience writing RTL for FPGAs or software that interacts with FPGA fabric.
  • Experience with Python, build systems (CMake, Make, Bazel), and CI pipeline development (GitLab).
  • Experience with hardware-in-the-loop testing.
  • Experience in robotics, aerospace, communications, or other hardware-focused projects.

Compensation and benefits
