In this onsite role in Milwaukee, you will design, build, and optimize modern data platforms primarily on the Microsoft stack, using Azure, Synapse, and Microsoft Fabric. The work is consulting-focused, with opportunities to deliver iterative results, document designs, and translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.

What you’ll do

  • Develop scalable, well-documented ETL/ELT pipelines using T-SQL, Python, Azure Data Factory/Fabric Data Pipelines, and Databricks, applying best-practice patterns for performance, security, and cost control.
  • Design relational and lakehouse models, including Fabric OneLake shortcuts, medallion-style layers, and dimensional/semantic models that support Power BI.
  • Implement automated data-quality checks, lineage, and observability metrics, and contribute to CI/CD workflows in Azure DevOps or GitHub.
  • Work with clients to gather requirements, demo iterative deliverables, and document technical designs while communicating clearly with non-technical audiences.
  • Research new platform capabilities, share learnings in internal communities of practice, and contribute to reusable accelerators that improve delivery speed and consistency.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to design and implement scalable data engineering solutions.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2 to 3 years delivering production data solutions, preferably in a consulting or client-facing environment.
  • Strong T-SQL skills for transformation and performance tuning.
  • Python experience for data wrangling, orchestration, or notebook-based development.
  • Hands-on ETL/ELT experience with at least one Microsoft service, such as Azure Data Factory, Synapse Pipelines, or Fabric Data Pipelines.
  • Project experience with Microsoft Fabric (preferred), including OneLake, Lakehouses, Data Pipelines, Notebooks, Warehouse, and Power BI DirectLake.
  • Familiarity with Databricks and/or Delta Lake or comparable lakehouse technologies (preferred).
  • Exposure to DevOps such as YAML pipelines and Terraform/Bicep, plus test automation frameworks (preferred).
  • Experience integrating SaaS and ERP sources (preferred), such as Dynamics 365, Workday, or Costpoint.

Compensation and location
