Army Vantage Data Engineer

Vista Innovative Solutions is seeking an Army Vantage Data Engineer to deliver end-to-end data engineering, analytics, and AI/ML solutions on the U.S. Army’s Army Vantage platform.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines in Palantir Foundry, including ingestion, transformation, and validation across multiple Army source systems and legacy platforms.
• Develop analytics and AI/ML models and create ontology objects to provide users a consistent, trusted view of operational data.
• Operationalize AI by embedding models into low-code applications (Workshop, Slate) and AI-enabled workflows (Palantir AIP) for real-time insights across readiness, logistics, finance, and personnel.
• Write and optimize transforms using PySpark, Python, and SQL, including feature engineering and data preparation for model training.
• Collect requirements from Army commanders and staff and translate them into technical and AI-driven solutions.
• Monitor pipeline and model health, troubleshoot failures, and track performance, accuracy, and drift.
• Implement data governance, security, access control, and responsible AI practices aligned with Army and DoD policy.
• Use an Agile framework to manage tasks and document solutions for the Vantage developer community.

Requirements

• 5+ years in data engineering, software development, or analytics, including building ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL; experience with PySpark or similar distributed data processing.
• Experience applying AI/ML to operational data (predictive modeling, forecasting, NLP, or LLM-enabled workflows) and deploying models into production.
• Strong communication (oral and written) and organization skills, with the ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• CompTIA Security+.
• Active Secret Clearance.

Preferred

• Hands-on experience with Palantir Foundry (Pipeline Builder, Code Repositories, Ontology Manager, Workshop, Slate) and/or Palantir AIP.
• Experience in Army, DoD, or federal data environments.
