Application Specialist - Post Processor Developer Focus (2 years CAD/CAM exp., Bachelor's)

Responsibilities

• Develop, configure, and validate CNC post processors for a broad range of machine tools, including 3-, 4-, and 5-axis mills, lathes, and mill-turn configurations.
• Create and maintain virtual machine models to simulate CNC machining processes.
• Collaborate with application specialists and customers to capture requirements and verify outcomes.
• Troubleshoot and optimize post processors for accuracy, safety, and efficiency.
• Document development workflows and manage version control.
• Stay current with industry trends, CNC controller technology, and Tebis software capabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• Strong understanding of CNC machining processes, G-code/M-code, and machine tool kinematics.
• Experience with CAD/CAM systems; Tebis preferred, but Mastercam, HyperMill, NX, or similar are acceptable.
• Knowledge of CNC controllers (Siemens, Fanuc, Heidenhain, Mazak, or similar).
• Programming or scripting experience (BASIC, C++, Python, or proprietary post languages).
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• CAD/CAM experience: 2 years (Required).
• Bachelor’s degree (Required).
• Willingness to travel: 50% (Required).
• Work location: In person (onsite).
• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must be in the Troy, MI area for onsite position.
