Job Description

The Analytics Data Engineer (BI/Fabric) will own the evolution of LifeWave's global analytics environment and administer the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem, building data objects within Fabric to empower BI Analysts while defining data health and governance standards. This role reports to the Global Senior Manager of Business Intelligence and is based onsite in Draper, Utah.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee data warehouses and lakehouses within the Microsoft Fabric platform.
  • Build data pipelines using Data Factory components and PySpark within Fabric.
  • Administer Fabric workspace access and connections.
  • Design and implement automated data freshness checks and monitoring for pipeline failures and data latency.
  • Develop durable, adaptable SQL for complex databases (DDL and DML required; DQL preferred).
  • Collaborate with partners across Sales, Marketing, Events, Recognition, and other teams.
  • Contribute to production and maintenance of a flexible library of Semantic Models ready for visualization and analysis.
  • Define and enforce data naming conventions and workspace folder structures to enable a scalable Global BI self‑service environment.
  • Assist in defining, documenting, and enforcing a business ready data dictionary.
  • Prepare the environment for future scaling to support complex transformations and AI readiness.
  • Manage CI/CD processes in a Fabric environment via GitHub integration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent.
  • 2-4 years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or comparable fields.
  • Proficiency in T-SQL for data warehousing and complex modeling (DDL and DML required; DQL preferred).
  • Functional knowledge of DAX for Semantic Modeling.
  • Experience connecting to and extracting data from REST/SOAP APIs via Data Factory objects and/or PySpark.
  • Functional knowledge of PySpark/Python.
  • Familiarity with the Fabric Ecosystem, including Lakehouses, Data Warehouses, and Semantic Models.
  • General understanding of Star Schema design to support BI reporting.
  • Experience with Power Query, Dataflows, and Data Pipelines.
  • Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem solving.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and collaborative communication skills for cross-functional work.
  • Ability to adapt to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity, and rapid change.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

LifeWave operates as an in-office organization, and all employees are required to work onsite in alignment with corporate policy. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to work at a computer workstation and be mobile within the office. Occasional movement of up to 25 pounds may be required.
